The Chinese watchmaking industry has turned a new page. In 1955, the first Chinese watch "Wuxing" (Five Stars) marked the legendary beginning of the industry. In 1957, building upon the core technology of the "Wuxing" watch, China swiftly introduced the "51 watch," the first mass-produced Chinese wristwatch. This ended China's history of being able to repair watches but not manufacture them.

With lofty ambitions soaring high, the legend never landed. In 1965, under the classified codename "304," China successfully developed the first aviation watch (chronograph) specifically for the Chinese Air Force. Overcoming more than ten rigorous Air Force watchmaking tests, it was officially assembled into 1,400 finished products and delivered to the frontline of the Chinese Air Force.

Technological turning point, epitomizing generational classics. In 1966, the new mechanical wristwatch "Dongfeng" independently designed and manufactured by Seagull watchmaking masters, was successfully developed and mass-produced. Renowned for its exceptional quality, it became one of the classic "three essentials".

Stepping out to showcase Chinese time to the world. In 1973, the brand introduced "Dongfeng" watches into the international market, acclaimed for their excellence and peak craftsmanship. By 1975, the first women's mechanical watch meeting international standards entered full production, dominating the domestic market with its exquisite design and precise timekeeping.

Appreciating the three major complex crafts, witnessing extraordinary prowess. In 2007, Seagull's "Perpetual Calendar" wristwatch made its public debut in Hong Kong, marking Seagull's mastery of the "three classic complex mechanisms" including the tourbillon, minute repeater, and perpetual calendar. By 2009, Seagull unveiled its first minute repeater perpetual calendar high-complexity wristwatch at the Basel International Watch Fair. In 2010, a super-complicated wristwatch combining the tourbillon, perpetual calendar, and minute repeater was privately commissioned and collected for over one million RMB, once again causing a sensation in the industry.

In September 2021, legendary volleyball player Lang Ping signed an endorsement deal with the Chinese Seagull brand, becoming the first brand ambassador since the initiation of Seagull's brand revitalization plan.
