The Brief Introduction to Chen Cheng

Born in Yixing, the capital of pottery, in 1952, Chen Cheng embarked on the road of purple clay art in 1972. She studied under Gu Daorong, a master of ceramic art in Jiangsu Province, and He Daohong, a master of Chinese ceramic art and a master of arts and crafts in Jiangsu Province. She loves purple clay, so from 1972 to now, she has been working hard to improve the purple clay pot culture of Yixing Pottery Capital, to make the traditional pots of the older generation good, and to innovate them, so as to become a qualified purple clay artist. She founded the Purple Clay Research Studio at the Yixing Ceramics Museum in China, specializing in the design and hand-made creation of purple clay teapots. In 2006, she was named the Purple Clay Art Celebrity Favorite among Chinese Collectors.

She is a senior arts and crafts artist, member of China Arts and Crafts Society, representative inheritor of intangible cultural heritage projects, and March 8th Red Flag Bearer. Iron Mica Sand Particles

Opening the Teapot
